Et godt alternativ til Chilliwack og Vedder river er Stave river ved Mission
Stave River er et meget kort vandsystem ca. 3 mil lang og løber ud i Fraser River. Det er beliggende mellem Maple Ridge og Mission BC på HW 7, men er let tilgængelig fra både Maple Ridge og Mission siden. Floden er reguleret af en Hydro dæmning med et stort kraftværk som også regulerer vandmængden. Derfor er Stave lidt uforudsigelig hvad angår vandmængde og fiskbarhed. Man bør være opmærksom på at vandet pludseligt kan stige voldsomt så vær forsigtig. Floden er også påvirket af tidevandet, så derfor er fiskeriet altid bedst på stigende vand.
Hundelaks (Chum) og Sølvlaks (Coho)
I oktober 2016 besøgte jeg den igen og det var et ganske godt gensyn. Der var masser af store Chum og Coho. Det er rigtig godt fluevand og der er rigtig gode muligheder for at lande fiskene. Vi var ellers lidt betænkelige over vejrudsigten de havde lovet stærk storm og masser af regn. Da vi satte og ud i bilen i Chilliwack væltede regnen ned, men da vi kom til Mission stilnede det af og blev endda afløst af lidt solskin. Vi var heldige – vandstanden var ikke steget i nær samme grad som i Chilliwack og Vedder, så vi fik et godt fiskeri med voldsomt fightende Chum og springlystne Cohos.
