Er der noget bedre end at mærke det bløde tugh i fluelinen og stangen løftes og står straks i en spændt bue – der er kongelaks på!
Det lykkes at få kongelaks på fluen og endda tre stykker. Jeg havde sat mig for at nu skulle det være, stedet var fundet, grejet rigget til og der var plads til at fighte fisken, hvis heldet var med mig. Vi har fundet et rigtig godt spot med stærkt strømmende vand henover store sten og med et roligt bagvand i fluens sving. Det måtte være her vi kunne komme langt nok ned til kongelaksen uden at bruge ekstremt synkende liner. Så min nye loop stang og Sage hjul skulle stå prøven. Stang og hjul fungerer perfekt, men jeg måtte ty til små splithagl for at få synk nok på alligevel. Det klarede udstyret også uden det gik ud over kasteteknikken.
Vi var tre mand afsted og var klar i det første morgenlys. Umiddelbart var der ingen aktivitet på spottet og Henrik og Jonas, der ellers altid er gode for fisk mærkede ingenting udover bundbid. Tænkte at det her, det lover ikke godt, men kløede på alligevel og det gav pote. Indenfor de første 2 timer landede jeg 2 kongelaks og det er altså bare en vidunderlig følelse at mærke det bløde stop – kalder det tugh – når fluelinen i svinger ind i det roligere bagvand og blødt stopper og jeg løfter stangen og straks mærker det voldsomme ryk i den anden ende – YES.
Første fisk var en fin kongelaks på omkring 6-7 kilo og jeg var mere end tilfreds. 10 minutter senere kommer “tughet” igen og denne gang er der andre boller på suppen. Sikke en fight og med fuld kontrol fra stang og hjul lykkes det at lande en pænt farvet kongelaks på 100 cm præcis. Wauw, det er godt og giver smag på mere og forhåbentlig friskere laks.
Desværre dør aktiviteten ud på spottet. Jeg vil prøve et andet sted og vader over floden og spotter 2 kongelaks, der lige er gået op mellem stenene og sunder sig på nakken på 40 cm vand. Prøver midt ude i floden og servere fluen og minsandten om ikke det lykkedes. Det var en besynderlig fight for der var næsten ingen – laksen havde alt for lidt vand til at gøre det store postyr af sig (den skulle nu bare have vendt om og gået ned i fossen). Nå, men prøver også til på det gamle spot ved “runnet”, men der er alt for lidt strøm. Det begynder at regne ved 13 tiden – ENDELIG og jeg trisser til sidst ned på spottet jeg startede ved. Får selskab af Benny og Niels fra Skive og vi fisker i silende regn uden det store held og så sidst på dagen sker der en masse i floden. Nu trækker der nye fisk op i systemet og vi kan tydeligt se og mærke det og det bliver da også til fisk til Benny og Niels. Fra 16 tiden er jeg alene. Det øsregner og jeg kan se, at der går mange fisk forbi mig og jeg finder stedet, hvor de lige stopper op. Gennemfisker det forfra og bagfra og kan bare ikke få det til at fungere.
Sådan er det bare – de største fisk er stadig derude.
