5 slags laks i Chilliwack

Tusindvis af lystfiskere ligger vejen fordi BC, mindst én gang på en livstid, på jagt efter drømmenes fiskeri, med en variation i fedtfinnearter, sjældent set andre steder i verden. British Columbia byder på laksefiskeri af ypperste klasse og med laks i så rigelige mængder, at man på den rette tid af året, nærmest kan krydse floderne tørskoet. Der er 5 slags laks i Chilliwack du kan fiske efter!

Kongelaks (Chinook, Kings, Springs) er den største og mest voldsomme af laksene. Den ligger typisk mellem 6 til 15 kilo. Der er ofte 5-10%, der har et år ekstra på bagen i havet og de er mellem 15-25 kilo – et kromfarvet muskelbundt og en fantastisk fighter.

Sølv laks (Coho) er den laks der minder mest om vores hjemlige atlanterhavs laks. Den ligger typisk mellem 3 til 8 kilo. Afhængigt af fiskevandet finder du dem også op til 15 kilo.

Hunde laks (Chum). Den er helt sølvfarvet i havet, men når den rammer ferskvand får den striber af violet, grøn og pink på kroppen (lidt som en aborre). Hannen udvikler også et lang gab med store tænder. Typisk vægt er mellem 5 til 10 kilo, med undtagelser op til 15 kilo.

Pukkel laks (pink) – kun hvert andet år/ulige år. Der er millioner af Pink laks med en gennemsnitsstørrelse på 2-3 kilo og op til 6 kilo.

Rød laks (Sockeye) bliver helt røde når de går op i floderne. Rødlaks bliver mellem 2 til 7 kilo.
